Join Nature in the City for our upcoming Alemany Farm Forage event at Alemany Farm! This event is part of our Youth in Action program within our ShineOn event series.

Alemany Farm is the biggest urban farm in San Francisco with the highest butterfly diversity in the city!

Event Overview:

• Learn from experts about the different butterflies that call Alemany Farm home and participate in activities focusing on foraging wildlife and habitat restoration.
• Explore all that is within Alemany Farm through a scavenger hunt: an orchard, pond, creek flow, hillside meadow, community garden, and more!
• Come together with like-minded community members about urban agriculture and nature in our city! Alemany Farm is a beautiful space to share with others and celebrate.
• Enjoy delicious food and drinks that are youth-inspired with community members at Alemany Farm.

Program - Drop-in - Join Us For Any and All:

10:00 - Welcome and orientation

10:30 - Rotating events:

• Habitat focus on foraging wildlife and habitat restoration
• Farm Tour/Scavenger Hunt tour

12:00 - Food and Community gathering (until 1pm)

1:00 - Optional Bonus: Stick around and volunteer with Alemany Farm!

Preparation:

Bring water and wear layers and sun protection.

Meeting Location:

Meet at the shed/ kiosk near the south entrance.

Transportation and Parking:

Muni service to the site includes the 23 and 44 busses within walking area. Parking is available along the street at Alemany Blvd, but make sure you park before the entrance to the farm. If the gate is open you can also park inside the gates.

This event is FREE to attend (with RSVPs kindly requested), thanks to funding from ShineOnSF. Donations to Nature in the City are always welcome!
