Green Stormwater Infrastructure: Benefits, Construction, Regulation, and ChallengesRain gardens, bioretention areas, stormwater planters and green roofs, referred to as green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), provide benefits to the landscape including habitat, aesthetically pleasing green design, flood control, cleaner water and erosion control. At the next Landscape Advisory Committee, Peter Schultze-Allen and Josh Bradt will review GSI terminology, state and local regulations, and steps to design, install and maintain a GSI system. This presentation will also include an update on key features of the San Pablo Avenue Green Stormwater Spine Project and information on soil media, a typical plant palette and water conservation outcomes. The meeting will conclude with a facilitated group discussion, led by Peter Rosen, on the challenges and solutions to specific GSI projects. Come ready to share your ideas! Peter Rosen, QWEL, BFQL, EPA Watersense Partner and prior President of California Landscape Contractors Association-East Bay, is the Owner of Dynamic Designs Landscape Solutions.
